One Day Website Launch for James Spies for Westwood City Council

Website in a Day?! Challenge Accepted: James Spies for Westwood City Council

When James Spies contacted me about building a brand-new campaign website for his run for Westwood City Council, the clock was ticking — fast. But luckily, this wasn’t our first rodeo. We’d already teamed up on his criminal defense attorney website (cue courtroom drama music), so we knew how to move quickly and think smart. The mission? Launch a full site by the weekend. The result? Mission accomplished, in just a few hours.

The site is short, sweet, and straight to the point. We wanted voters to land on the homepage and instantly know who James is, what he stands for, and how they can get involved. Clean layout, friendly vibe, and mobile-ready.

What made this project successful was the combination of speed and strategy. By reusing proven design components from our previous collaboration and aligning quickly on content, we were able to go from concept to launch in under 24 hours — without sacrificing quality. It's a testament to the power of preparation, communication, and good design systems.

Sometimes, you don’t need weeks of planning. Sometimes, you just need a good idea, a great client, and maybe a little bit of Squarespace expertise.
